Emmett man killed, Eagle woman hospitalized in crash east of Payette

Payette, ID (CBS2) — On Friday, May 19, 2023, just before 2 pm a 44-year-old Emmett man was traveling westbound on State Highway 52 in a GMC pickup when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with an Audi S5 driven by a 62-year-old woman from Eagle who was heading eastbound on State Highway 52.

The driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and died from his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Audi was life-flighted to a local hospital, her condition is not known at this time.

The crash happened at milepost 4 just east of Payette on SH 52. Both lanes were blocked for 4 hours as crews worked to clear the scene.

Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate this crash.
