Food trucks by Costco burglarized | News, Sports, Jobs
Police are investigating damages to food trucks that were broken into between Sunday night and Monday morning in a lot across from Costco in Kahului.
Damage was reported to police at 7 a.m. Monday by one food truck owner, and several others also were damaged, said Maui police spokesman Lt. Gregg Okamoto. He said police were working on reports from other food truck businesses.
One food truck, Mo ‘Ono Hawaii, reported being closed Monday after its Honda EU7000is generator was stolen, according to an Instagram post by the business. “Being that our generator was our primary source of electricity we will be CLOSED today,” the Monday post said.
The post also reported thefts from other food trucks in the lot.
Mo ‘Ono reopened Tuesday.
Anyone with information on the thefts can call the Maui Police Department at 244-6400.
