Maui’s Finest, an all-star flag football team representing the Maui Police Athletic League, won the 10-under NFL Flag Football Tournament Los Angeles Chargers Championship, a regional tournament on Sunday in Irvine, Calif.
This tournament was a one-day event and Maui’s Finest won five games with no team scoring on them — they won by mercy rule four times.
With the regional title, Maui’s Finest qualified for the national championships at the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games.
The team is made up of Kuha’o Cabanting, Archilles “Ghost” Valle, Cain “Boogeyman” Valle, Caleb Cordero, Cruz Vandament, Ezekiel “Bubba” Echiverri, Kayzen Sa’u, Micah Diaz, Mosiah Tuitele and Rhyan Min
The head coach is Terence Gomez and the assistant coaches are Michael Meredith and Nephi Laga.
