Cookie Lady sweets for Snoop Dogg | News, Sports, Jobs
The Maui Cookie Lady will be providing her sweets for Snoop Dogg, Cardi B and rock band Sublime with Rome at their Aloha Stadium concert on Thursday.
Snoop’s management company, Los Angeles-based Stampede Management, asked company owner Mitzi Toro to provide her cookies in both the hotel welcome suites and the concert green room at Aloha Stadium, according to the Hawai’i Small Business Development Network.
She will be offering a customized version of her “Hip Hop Legend” series that she provided for artist Ludacris.
Five years ago, Toro, a teacher and counselor at Kalama Intermediate, sold her chunky cookies at a Wailuku First Friday event as a fundraiser for Maui Memorial Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit nurses, who took care of her late father, Werner Kraensel.
It was a big hit. She developed her business and left Kalama a couple of years ago to focus full time on Maui Cookie Lady, which uses locally sourced ingredients and is hand-rolled in small batches. She received support and advice from the small business development network on Maui.
